Mad Hatter Music Resources publish books, sheet music and materials for schools, bands, instrumental teachers and choirs. This new site has grown out of Mad Hatter Musicals and is a branch of Mad Hatter Publications.
Mad Hatter Publications are based on the Gold Coast, Australia. We sell to primary and secondary schools throughout Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia and are now expanding through the joys of the internet onto the world stage. We now have two purchasing websites. Mad Hatter Musicals specializes in musicals, and this sister site, Mad Hatter Music Resources, produces books and materials for classroom and instrumental teachers. We are mindful of the busy lives of music teachers, and from small beginnings we hope to become a useful site for quick access to useful music resources. Sign up now to be kept up-to-date as new materials are published, and receive our regular newsletter!
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the many delays of launching this site, it has been decided to launch it now, although some resources are not quite ready for publishing. The concept of this site is very new for us. I ask you to be patient. If you think the site looks interesting please book-mark it and call back soon. Or sign-up to be kept informed about added resources. Many resources will be added in the coming months. Each section of the site has details of what is available and what is soon to be published.
Free Manuscript paper will be a permanent feature on our site. Useful for that desperate time when only hard-copy will do. Go to Free Downloads, click the link and it will take you to a download, ready to print as many copies as you like. You can even keep it on you desktop. Your students need never be short of manuscript paper again!
The main menus are your first step in finding resources. For ease of use there is some duplication, but it is worth checking in all possible sections, as many items can be classified in different ways. As a devotee of the Kodaly system, I have written some resource books for Kodaly teachers which will be published shortly. These are also excellent materials for all teachers of young children. I also have given my new piano tutor series a Kodaly slant. Learning to sing the Kodaly way is developed through the books, which will act as a link for those children who have learned Kodaly, or as a brief course for complete beginners. To be able to hear what they see is an essential skill for all children who are learning music.
In the Piano Express series I have rebelled against the extraordinary amount of teacher instruction which now appears in children's tutors. The clutter-free pages have few instructions encouraging teachers to use the material in the way best suited to them. The main aim is to give a basis for sound teaching, while maintaining a high level of interest in the child. This should always be our first concern.
We have song books as well as individual songs, music for recorder, band and classroom materials. We will also be carrying resources to make teacher's job easier.
May I remind you that we are a publishing company. We do not sell material that you would necessarily find in the music shops or other online sites. We aim to publish material that is a little different and that has been inspired by a perceived gap in the market. We are always pleased to get your feed-back, directly via "Contact Us' or as comments on twitter or our blogs.
We wish you all the very best with your music endeavours. Our children are young people in the making, and deserve to leave school with their love of music in tact. If teachers enhance this natural love, they have done a good job. |
